Boys Competitive Teams

A Message from Mark Seyler, SGA Owner and Boys Coach:
As a lifelong gymnast and former member of a great junior men's gymnastics program, I had a vision of the SGA Men's Gymnastics Program long before we opened the doors here in Southlake. After recently completing our third competitive season I am confident in saying that our team is well on its way to meeting that vision. Our team has continually grown over the past three years with over 50 competitive boys today. Many of our boys have won gold and others haven't yet but one thing is consistent, all the boys LOVE gymnastics! This is important for our coaches and parents as we know that men's gymnastics is a long term commitment and if the boys don't love what they are doing, they aren't going to achieve their potential. Gymnastics is a great sport with benefits in teaching the boys discipline, respect, pride, confidence, individuality, and team work. Some of these boys may vie for college scholarships and even Olympic accolades. Every boy on our team commits to do their very best each and every day and our coaching staff is here to support them in achieving their own potential.

Mark Seyler

Mark is owner and Boys Team Director of Southlake Gymnastics Academy. Mark grew up in Florida and trained through the Junior Elite level at Browns Gymnastics. His accomplishments as a junior include being a five time member of the USA Junior National Team and a fifth place finish at J.O. Nationals as a Class One (equivalent to today's level 10). Mark accepted a full scholarship to the University of Oklahoma in 1991 where he competed, coached, and studied. During his time at OU Mark was a key contributor to two 4th place team finishes at NCAA Nationals and also competed at USA Nationals as a Senior Elite. During Mark's 16 years as a competitive gymnast he had the opportunity to work with some of the nation's most respected coaches and to learn their techniques for training top athletes. As an active member of the SGA Boys Team coaching staff Mark works closely the rest of the coaching staff to help ensure our training plans and overall approach to gymnastics are as efficient and effective as possible.
